This week I wanted to do a study in Copic Markers, Multiliners, and a small amount of water color. The illustration is based upon a photograph that is not mine and may be found here. As a result the piece is not for sale or reproduction.
The illustration was drawn freehand (not traced) on 11x14 Strathmore Bristol board using a Pentel PG527 mechanical pencil with 0.7 2B lead. I used Copic Sepia Multiliners to establish the line art, and then shaded the entire piece using Copic Sketch Markers. I then used Pro White for the highlights, and a bit of Winsor & Newton watercolors for small details on the claws.
Overall I'm really happy with the way it turned out. I haven't done a completely analog illustration in years, and I'm glad to know I can still accomplish one if needed!
